Not a great value proposition or even ad – the copy is hilariously hyperbolic – but we thought the sight of a Mavic crankset on a Cinelli Supercorsa was too unusual not to share. Us? We’d remove it immediately and stick it onto a top-flight period French frame, where it belongs. 1980s Supercorsas are for Super and C Record.
PS: we had to Google where “Nanaimo” is (answer: British Columbia).

Custom Classic Cinelli Supercorsa – $4350 (North Nanaimo)
If you are into roadies, this is worth reading even though you are not buying. Yes, there is at least one rare ferrari rosso Cinelli Supercorsa in Nanaimo and it is up for grab. However, this is not just any Cinelli Supercorsa. This is a collector custom classic which can only increase in value.
I used to restore and custom build bicycle as a hobby and this one is the pinnacle of what I have left in my collection. I took three years in order to gather each and every bearing and spoke for this bicycle and no details had been spared in order to make this neo classic a fantastic bike to ride.
The frameset is a 2006 Cinelli Supercorsa 54cm built with Columbus Neuron tubings and pinned up with a late Campagnolo Record headset. The handlebar is a Vintage Cinelli Giro D’Italia attached to a matching Cinelli 110mm stem of the same period.
The bicycle has the rare first generation C Record rear dee – with the chrome covered lower jockey wheel – and matching C Record front dee and shifters and the unique later generation C Record delta brakes with matching brake levers. The beautiful and rare 1985 Mavic Starfish crankset shares the same “bomber’ look as the rear dee and brake set and enhance the retro look of the bike.
The white seat is a classic Rolls standing on a Dia Compe seatpost and its color matches the white bar tape, brake lever covers and cable tubings. The wheels are custom made of early 80s Campagnolo Super Record hubs with rare vintage 36 spoke super lightweight NOS Fiamme tubular rims.
This is a ten speed bicycle with a max speed of 50km per hour on flats. It is a 20-20 (20-pounder at 20mph) for Sunday rides with the club or century rides. I still own about eight bikes today so this one rarely saw the sun and never saw the rain. You will need to wipe out some dust, change the tubulars, maybe tune a few spokes? Nothing a true collector cannot do on his or her own. It has two chips in the paint and they are both pictured.
Useless to say that the pictures are far from the real thing. Even though these bicycles usually spend more time hanging than riding, this one may bring your man cave to new standards regarding style and conversations. On the road, this pedal hot rod is a true head-turner. The attention it draws from the traffic makes it safe to ride. Everybody will talk to you about it. You will get free drinks at the coffee shop. You will become very popular. Do not come back and say I did not warn you.
